Another sunny day out on my bike.

After quite a break from racing I've now done two events (both WOR) and been blessed with lovely weather and another good course.

It must be ten years since I first went to Meashafn, and it's not changed a bit. I went knowing exactly what to expect and enjoyed it a lot. It's a rolling piece of land, littered with stones and rocks but the well worn course means you don't have to worry about them to much.

With bright sunshine and a gentle breeze the rather soggy morning ground began to dry out a bit for the main race in the afternoon. After the first couple of laps an almost dry line apeared everywhere and you could just get on with riding. It's a bit whooped out in places but with just enough soft ruts around to make it a bit more interesting the course just got better as the time ticked by.

Meashafn has a mix of hills, compacted tracks, soft ground and some ruts. Most of which have a few whoops. It flows around and makes the best use of the land and is reasonably technical in places. Overtaking isn't a problem (not that I do much) and offers a challenge to get the best line on some of the hills and tracks. It's a great venue for novice riders as well.

In all I had a good day and only fell once as the front tucked under on a big soft berm. And looking at the results the class I entered (Over 40) is pretty tight and I'll enter it again. I just missed my 13th lap by seconds and the winner was only about 2 1/2 minutes in front of me (along with another 5 riders) in real time when the flag dropped so not a bad result really.

I'm really more of an Enduro man but I do like a good H+H and this one ticked the boxes for me.
